From an early age storytelling and books enriched my life. I wrote stories about ghosts and mysteries as a child, inspired by the old house in the Blue Mountains I lived some of my childhood in. I read profusely any of the mystery books I could get my hands on, from the characters of Nancy Drew, Trixie Beldon and Hal and Roger Hunt. Growing up, I moved around and lived in country and suburbia NSW. I found the different towns all inspiring, with so many varied stories within every place and community.
Juggling a job and studying, I finished a degree in Creative Writing, as a mature age student, at Wollongong University. Whilst bringing up my young kids I became further involved in literature by taking on the role of Director, of the Writers’ Unleashed festival, held in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney and organised by the Fellowship of Australian Writers - Sutherland. I enjoyed meeting the various writers, editors and publishers and to learn even more about writing and editing. I love to assist those who need to develop their writing and further their writing journey. I write historical stories of fiction and non-fiction for both adults and children. I love the research and sometimes become lost in other worlds. I also love to write picture books and delve into the delightful characters (especially the animal ones), who visit my books. Between my writing you’ll find me running or bushwalking in the national park or taking a swim at the beach with my husband and two boys. Other times I’ll pick up a dip pen and dabble in calligraphy or sketch the natural flora and fauna. |
